Receiving an education means different things to different people. To many of us it meant the 3 R's: reading, 'riting and 'rithmatic. That is why it is a good thing we went to school so that we could learn to write and spell correctly. Plus I am sure we all remember the stories of walking miles to school, uphill everyday and in terrible rain or snowstorms. The truth is, most people are probably surprised at how often they still use some of these skills that they thought would be useless when they were in school. From those selling mortgages as private lenders in Toronto, Canada to a designer creating new computer desks for Ikea, basic skills are needed anywhere in the work force.

There was a time in North America that you could get by with a grade school education and still make a living for yourself and your family. A lot has changed today, and many people that have their secondary school diploma are having problems finding a meaningful position, or having to work 2 or 3 part time jobs in order to meet their obligations and pay for that real estate.

Nowadays, even a college or university degree will not give the graduate a guarantee of a bright and happy future, with a well-paid job. Many graduates are finding that they need to upgrade some of the skills they were taught earlier in their schooling, as this continually evolving world is constantly changing.

For others such as new immigrants to our country, this may be the first time in their life that they have been able to have access to an education (lots of people don't know how lucky they are). They may have to start with a course in order to be able to just live day-to-day.

We will be offering insight into how to access different types of education including ESL courses, distant learning and online learning.
